We’ll never stop saying it: choose your games with a little patience and you can find some real bargains. Case in point: Titanfall — one of the flagship titles of the Xbox One launch, found at rock-bottom prices once its sequel came out.
What Is Titanfall
Titanfall is a multiplayer first-person shooter developed by Respawn Entertainment (founded by former Call of Duty developers) and published by EA in 2014. The distinguishing element that made it unique in the FPS landscape of the time was the combination of on-foot combat — featuring acrobatic wall-running and parkour — with the use of Titans: enormous mechs you pilot directly on the battlefield, with a weight and screen presence that you genuinely feel.
The pace of play is frenetic but never chaotic: the ability to run along walls and leap between buildings creates a verticality that few titles in the genre replicate with the same fluidity. The Titans add a strategic dimension — knowing when to call them in, how to use them, when to eject.
An Opportunity Not to Pass Up
With the release of Titanfall 2, the first chapter dropped to bargain prices. It’s a title designed primarily for online multiplayer — if the community is still active on your platform, it’s absolutely worth the reduced price. Even just to understand the feel of the gameplay and prepare for the sequel, which added an excellent single-player campaign.
